Bone Grafting
When a tooth has been lost, the bone beneath it begins to resorb. Bone grafting rebuilds that foundation — creating the volume and density needed for a successful, lasting implant.

When Is Bone Grafting Used?
Rebuilding the foundation for a lasting implant.
Bone grafting is primarily used when one to three teeth are missing and an implant is planned for that site. After a tooth is lost — whether through extraction, trauma, or disease — the surrounding bone can shrink over time, leaving insufficient volume to anchor an implant securely.
A bone graft restores that lost volume, creating the stable, healthy foundation a dental implant requires to integrate and last a lifetime.
- Indicated for one to three missing teeth where implant placement is planned
- Placed at the time of tooth extraction to preserve bone immediately after removal
- Can also be placed around existing implant sites to reinforce bone volume
- Allows implant placement in sites where bone loss would otherwise prevent it
What We Use
Biologic materials. Enhanced with your own healing.
Our bone grafts are made with purified, biologic freeze-dried demineralized bone — a highly biocompatible material that the body accepts readily and integrates with naturally over time.
This is augmented with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) — concentrated growth factors drawn from your own blood — which accelerates healing, reduces inflammation, and promotes faster, more robust bone regeneration at the graft site.
"Purified biologic freeze-dried demineralized bone, augmented with Platelet Rich Plasma from your own blood — for faster healing and stronger integration."
Full Arch Replacement
All-on-X — A Graftless Solution
For patients needing full-arch replacement, All-on-X is specifically designed as a graftless solution. By strategically angling implants into available bone, Dr. Winterholler avoids the need for bone grafting entirely — even in patients with significant bone loss — reducing treatment time and complexity dramatically.
Severe Bone Loss
Remote Anchorage — No Grafting Required
For patients with even the most severe cases of bone loss — including those turned away elsewhere — remote anchorage completely negates the need for advanced bone grafting. Using zygomatic, pterygoid, transnasal, and transsinus techniques, Dr. Winterholler anchors implants in dense, remote bone structures well beyond the areas of loss.
